Have you ever wondered why those hamburgers served at your favorite American chain taste so good? Have you ever tried recreating them at home? Well, this homemade burger seasoning will add the perfect touch to your patties, and soon you will taste the best burgers! This blend is made with paprika, brown sugar, and other secret ingredients that will take your burgers to the next level!
How to Make the Best Homemade Burger Seasoning
It’s simple and easy: combine salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Next, add the seasoning mix to your patties and prepare them as usual. Then, sprinkle some more seasoning before cooking, et voilà! Your cookouts will never taste the same!
This recipe works perfectly for burgers cooked on the grill, cast iron, and even oven-baked patties! It’s essential, however, to add the correct measurements to your meat; the recipe below highlights the measures in detail.
What Else Can You Add to Your Burger?
I love that burgers are versatile! You can customize them however you please using simple and fresh ingredients. Here’s what I add to my burger:
- Whole grain patties are packed with fiber, protein, and other nutrients. They’re healthier than the classic hamburger buns and taste amazing!
- Iceberg lettuce is my favorite variety to use for hamburgers. It adds the perfect crunchiness, does not compromise the overall taste, and prevents the bun from getting soggy.
- Cheese, that guy that changes the whole hamburger’s name to cheeseburger! My favorites are Cheddar and Swiss; add them to the cooking patty shortly before serving to create the perfect melt!
- Pickles add an excellent contrast in both flavor and texture! Of course, you can never go wrong with classic dill pickle chips. However, I love the bread and butter chips version for its crisp, tangy, and sweet touch, YUM!
- Red onions complement all the ingredients beautifully, especially the ground beef and the lettuce.
- My signature sauce! Oh. My! Made with mayo, ketchup, and other ingredients, this sauce perfectly balances the burger. Here’s the full recipe.
- Optional: tomatoes, fried egg, avocado slices, jalapeños, caramelized onions, grilled peppers, mushrooms, or your favorite topping.
Serving Hamburgers
Hamburgers are best served with french fries, sweet potato fries, corn on the cob, or chips on the side. You may also serve burgers with coleslaw, zucchini chips, or a side salad for a healthier version. Enjoy!
